Get to know our pastor and his wife

Stephen & Rose Teaney

Pastor Teaney has served as Pastor of Victory Baptist Church since 2026. He and Mrs. Rose have been married since 2015 and count it a privilege to serve the Lord together, raising their children in the faith along the way.

Pastor Teaney

Pastor Teaney was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and grew up in nearby Marion, where his family faithfully attended Grace Baptist Church under the ministry of Pastor Cecil Ballard. At the age of four, Pastor Teaney trusted Christ as his personal Saviour. He attended Grace Baptist Academy from first grade through high school, graduating in 2009. During those years, he had the opportunity to serve the Lord through the nursing home ministry, bus ministry, soulwinning, choir, and song leading.

In August of 2006, while attending Midwest Christian Boys Football Camp, God called Pastor Teaney to preach. After graduating from high school, he attended Providence Baptist College in Elgin, Illinois, where he received his degree in Pastoral Studies in 2014.

Mrs. Rose

Mrs. Rose grew up in Ottumwa, Iowa, where she faithfully attended Ottumwa Baptist Temple. At the age of six, Mrs. Rose trusted Christ as her Saviour. She developed a heart for serving the Lord and has faithfully used her musical abilities in the ministry, particularly through playing the piano.

Pastor Teaney and Mrs. Rose met while attending Providence Baptist College and began courting in the spring of 2014.

Pastor Teaney and Mrs. Rose count it a privilege to serve the Lord together, and are thankful for the children with whom God has blessed their home.

Together in Ministry

Pastor Teaney and Mrs. Rose were married on October 10th, 2015. Following their marriage, they returned to Grace Baptist Church in Marion, Iowa, where they served together for five years. Pastor Teaney worked with the teenagers, regularly filled the pulpit, and served in many areas of the church, while Mrs. Rose faithfully served through the music ministry.

In 2020, the Lord directed their family to First Baptist Church in Brighton, Illinois, where Pastor Teaney served as Assistant Pastor under Pastor Don Letson. In 2026, God once again directed their steps, calling Pastor Teaney to become the pastor of Victory Baptist Church in Atwater, California.
